The DeepGreen data center guarantees supply security thanks to its innovative technology, as well as its location at the foot of the Alps. This offers the optimal combination of access to large amounts of hydroelectric power, a natural cooling reservoir, and a strategic location at the heart of Europe’s fiber optic transmission network. Maximum system stability is achieved by means of our own substation, uninterruptible power supply and diesel generators.

Security
Access to the server rooms is only possible to authorized persons via biometric identification. All critical areas are also secured using staff isolation systems. Surveillance cameras record the movement of persons and goods in corridors, at doors and in outer areas. The site is enclosed by a 2.5 m high, expanded-metal fence. Security staff members are alerted in the event of unauthorized access attempts or suspicious behavior.

Safety
The data center has extensive fire precautions in place. Highly sensitive early-warning alarm systems alert security personnel and prime automatic fire extinguishing systems. A closely-knit network of fire alarms takes care of the final triggering of automatic fire-fighting equipment. The fire extinguishing system works with a kind of aerosol mist which does not damage the servers. The entire data center is split up into individual fire compartments to prevent fires from spreading.
